HACOBE supports RF, TS and IP.
By adding functions as required, it can be customised into the HACOBE that suits you.
Introduction
Our TS analyzer is widely known by the name “HACOBE”.
Its full name — Portable TS Recording Analyzer HACOBE — is a little long, but it says exactly what the product is: a portable unit that records and analyzes TS.
HACOBE accepts not only TS input but also RF/IF input. Since it was announced at a domestic trade show in 2009 it has been used by many customers, both in Japan and overseas.
After the release of the first HACOBE (TSA-1000P/PQ), developed jointly with Tohoku Broadcasting Co., Ltd., and a subsequent licensed version, the current HACOBE2 was completed.
HACOBE2 added simulated modulation output for the various broadcast systems, IP input/output and monitoring, and can be operated remotely from your own PC.
A rack-mount sister product, HACOBE9, was also added to the family.
HACOBE2 then gained an H.265 decoding function for 4K broadcasting and evolved into HACOBE2+.
The HACOBE series
The HACOBE series can be configured to match your purpose by adding functions to suit the application.
First choose a base unit carrying the basic analysis functions, in either a portable or a rack-mount form.
Then select and add the options you need to build the optimum system.
HACOBE2+ and HACOBE9: where each one is used
Portable: HACOBE2+
The portable HACOBE2+ comes into its own where mobility matters — checking transmission on site, maintenance work and the like.
Options let it descramble the signal under analysis, so video and audio can be checked as well. It is used in a wide range of situations, including being carried into master control rooms and transmitter stations.
Rack-mount: HACOBE9
The rack-mount HACOBE9 is installed in a rack and accessed from a monitoring desk or an office floor.
Connecting it to the output of a matrix switcher, for example, lets you check the state of each signal. Adding the TS over IP option extends this to monitoring the state of IP streams. It is widely used in master control rack rooms.
Track record
HACOBE2+ and HACOBE9 are used by broadcasters in terrestrial, satellite, CATV and IPTV, as well as by telecommunications carriers and receiver manufacturers — broadcast-related businesses throughout Japan.
Common functions
■ Linking with our recording systems
TS data held in one of our recording systems can be analyzed from HACOBE over the network.
You can switch easily between several recording units for analysis.
■ TS analysis
The following analyses are supported for the input TS.
- Packet analysis / section analysis
- Packet interval display
- table_id display
- PCR jitter display
- PTS graph display
■ Video and audio decoding
Video and audio can be decoded. Switching services, and switching between video and audio, are both supported.
* Audio checking is supported on HACOBE2+ only.
* Decoding a scrambled TS requires the descrambling option.
■ External TS analysis
TS data can be uploaded to a HACOBE shared folder over the network and analyzed.
* HACOBE2+ can also analyze TS files on USB storage.
■ Remote operation
HACOBE can be operated remotely from your own PC over the network.
Features of HACOBE2+
What makes HACOBE2+ distinctive is that it brings a wide range of functions together in a single unit. Its portable chassis means it can be carried to site and used there.
Until now, checking reception of digital broadcasts or isolating a fault meant preparing a dedicated instrument for each purpose and carrying them all to site.
Taking one HACOBE2+ instead consolidates the equipment you need and shortens preparation time.
As a result, analysis can be started quickly even when an urgent response is required.
HACOBE2+ is the model that makes the most of a wide range of options on top of the basic analysis functions.
