The unit performs basic TS and RF monitoring by sequentially switching between multiple services such as terrestrial digital (ISDB-T), BS, 110°CS, and QAM.
When used as a standalone unit
- All operations can be performed from a web browser.
- Two descrambling methods, B-CAS and C-CAS, are supported, so video and audio can be checked.
- You can switch from cyclic monitoring to fixed monitoring.
- Alarms are reported by SNMP.
In fixed monitoring the unit can also record to its built-in HDD (loop recording).
It can also be switched to Video mode, which shows the descrambled picture at a larger size.
On the monitoring screen the constellation is placed beside the video, making the relationship between picture break-up and the constellation easy to see. The channel being monitored, the reception level, C/N and BER are shown, and monitoring focuses on items related to viewing such as video and audio. Packet analysis and section analysis are of course also possible.
Combining our Centralized Monitoring System with the ST-1 Cyclic Monitoring Unit makes the following possible.
Monitoring of multiple sites becomes possible.
・A MAP display makes the situation easy to grasp at a glance, and clicking a site shows the screen of the corresponding ST-1. The screen layout is proposed to suit each customer.
Alarms can be masked automatically while broadcasting is off the air, using EPG information.
・This prevents genuine alarms from being missed among too many alarms.
When the NIT is being replaced, comparison monitoring checks the replaced NIT for errors.
・This enables monitoring at the demarcation point.
The monitoring screen is designed with the following in mind.
・Visualising yesterday’s alarm count raises awareness of monitoring.
・Showing help when an alarm occurs helps keep first-line response at a consistent quality.
・Monitoring logs can be shown for all sites together, or filtered.
・Monitored sites can be displayed graphically and checked from a browser on your own PC.
