Background of Implementation
Q. What systems were you using before implementation?
We were using the following systems.
■ Multi-Sync Viewer
This system allows simultaneous playback of sources recorded at multiple points (BASEBAND, ENC OUT, MASTER OUT1, AIR, etc.), all in a synchronized state. It also supports delay adjustment, enabling field-by-field and frame-by-frame review using step-forward and step-back controls.
For example, sources at each stage of the signal chain, such as SDI → TS → AIR, can be compared and reviewed all at once.
■ Integrated Monitoring System
This is Traffic Sim’s alarm monitoring system. It provides a dedicated GUI that handles not only alarm monitoring but also log display, thumbnail views of recording servers, and WebAPI integration.
For example, clicking an indicator or thumbnail when an alarm occurs can launch a monitoring analysis application or playback player.
Since the customer had previously used the Multi-Sync Viewer, they had a high opinion of its operability.
Challenges Before Implementation
Q. What operational challenges did you face?
We faced the following challenges:
- When using the Multi-Sync Viewer, having many monitoring points caused the on-screen display to become too small
- With over 20 monitoring points in use, we wanted smoother access to each recording point
- Since systems A / B / C dynamically switch between active and standby modes, we wanted clearer status display
- We wanted to leave memos to share points of interest within the master control
To address these challenges, we carried out additional development and system improvements.
Approach to Resolving Challenges
① Issue: Display Too Small
- We configured the system to output from a single PC to two 4K monitors, significantly improving visibility.
② Improved Accessibility to Multiple Recording Points
- We deployed a centralized monitoring server and provided a dedicated Web UI, enabling centralized aggregation of system-level information and smooth access.
③ Visualization of Active/Standby Status
- We implemented a function to dynamically switch the SYS display.
- We also added a feature to display the SYS status at the time of historical playback, as well as a SYS change history display function.
④ Memo and Information Sharing Function
- In addition to the memo function for logs, we developed a “Voice Logging Box” that allows immediate audio memo recording from the monitoring console.
Future Outlook
Q. Are there things you look forward to or would like to pursue going forward?
We look forward to further expansion of operational support features, such as AI utilization.
