Challenges
In recent years, rapid subtitle broadcasting during large-scale disasters and other emergencies has been established as a government policy guideline. Depending on the disaster situation and time of day, securing sufficient staff may become difficult.
For this reason, building a system capable of delivering services with a small, in-house team had become a key challenge.
Solution
AI Real-Time Subtitle Generation System “Mojipa”
Results After Implementation
- Small-team operation has become possible, contributing to cost reduction and the expansion of subtitle coverage to new programs.
- A workflow enabling subtitle delivery by a single operator during emergency special broadcasts has been established.
Reasons for Adoption
- We evaluated the high usability of the system, including its high speech recognition accuracy and support for an intuitive touchscreen panel UI.
- Compared to methods using specialized keyboards such as the “high-speed input method,” operator training requirements are lower and small-team operation is feasible — both were highly valued.
- We also determined that the system can be applied in a respeak workflow.
Future Outlook
We plan to further expand the number of programs receiving subtitle coverage going forward.
